Since the earliest days of Silicon Valley, Greene Engineers electronics work has included facilities for semiconductor, semiconductor equipment and materials, aerospace, and computer companies. Greene’s work encompasses a full range of process technologies, including silicon and gallium arsenide, 300mm and copper processes. Projects range in scale from large greenfield sites to process upgrades, expansions and tool installs.

FEATURED PROJECT: AKT: Facility Engineering and Campus Expansion

AKT is an Applied Materials company and is the world’s leading supplier of main equipment for the Flat Panel Display (FPD) industry. Their recognized products include a Plasma Enhanced Chemical Deposition System (PECVD), an Electron Beam Array Tester (EBT) and equipment for the fabrication of color filters.

Greene Engineers has provided continuing facility engineering services for the AKT campus in Santa Clara, Ca. since 1997. The facility is comprised of three buildings totaling 170,000 sq.ft. of R&D, manufacturing, testing, office and shipping/receiving space. The evolution of the FPD industry has imposed significant architectural alterations to AKT’s facility in order to accommodate the continuously increasing size of the flat panel display, and as a consequence, the increase in their equipment size. Upgrade of the mechanical, electrical and process systems has been required to support these changes.


	Greene has participated on over 80 projects during the past 10 years. A majority of these projects exceeded $5,000,000 in construction cost.
	The diversity of our projects with AKT spans a broad spectrum and includes numerous space alterations and process equipment installations. Among other projects, we have been the lead consultants in: the addition of a server room; roof replacement; Process Cooling Water (PCW) and Clean, Dry Air (CDA) systems upgrade; and alterations to their process gas delivery, exhaust and waste water treatment systems. Also prepared several facility systems capacity studies.
	Provide a complete facilities design package with in-house mechanical, electrical and chemical engineering and project management services. Our services for AKT extend beyond the facilities design to supplement their construction project management. Our involvement in the complete process from the planning to the closeout of a project has helped us form a strong link with the entire AKT group.
