| Greene Engineers was founded in 1954 as the first mechanical-electrical facilities engineering firm in Silicon Valley. Beginning with three research buildings for Stanford University over 50 years ago, Greene now designs facilities for companies, universities and research institutes across the globe. | Greene Engineers serves five industries: electronics, bioscience, healthcare, datacom and greentech. The high technology engineering systems that Greene designs for these facilities include clean & aseptic environments, chemical storage, high-purity process piping, deionized water and WFI, bulk chemical delivery, industrial and biomedical waste treatment, power and lighting, process controls, emergency power and UPS systems, building management, and life safety systems. |
| Since the earliest days of Silicon Valley, Greene’s electronics work has included facilities for semiconductor, semiconductor equipment and materials, aerospace, and computer companies. Greene’s work encompasses a full range of process technologies and includes projects spanning from large greenfield sites to process upgrades, expansions and tool installs. |
| Greene’s involvement in the fast-growing greentech revolution includes solar power, biofuels, low-energy LEDs, thin film and nanotechnology. Greene Engineers is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council and is dedicated to environmentally sound and energy efficient designs. Greene’s LEED-accredited engineers assist clients with LEED certification for industrial and office projects. |
| Greene Engineers' heritage in bioscience began in the mid-1960's and expanded greatly as the industry grew in the Bay Area and beyond. Among Greene's many projects are both research and development and cGMP manufacturing facilities, including large headquarters campuses. |
| Greene’s healthcare work is predominantly for the demanding environment of hospitals, but also includes medical research facilities, clinics and medical office buildings. In California, Greene is experienced with taking projects through the OSHPD approval process. |
| Greene also designs the electrical and mechanical systems that meet the demanding requirements of mission-critical datacom facilities. Electrical systems are designed for power reliability, redundancy, and power conditioning. Cooling systems are designed to handle the high heat densities of large data centers.
